For over twenty years Tom Neel has been at the forefront of regional Piedmont artists. Known for his use of rich color and his wide range of subject matter, he is most respected for quality and capturing the glory of this area of Virginia, he calls home.

He is one of the most commissioned Piedmont artists, with nearly half of his yearly works created by special order. His paintings and many other creative projects, have become the part of so many private and corporate collections, both here and abroad. These creative corporate projects include those for The Inn At Little Washington, Van Metre Companies, Capital Hospice, Ferrari of Washington, Salamander Hospitality, Creighton Farms and more.

Born May 1955, in Washington, D.C., Neel was raised in Maryland, but has called Piedmont’s hunt country home for many years. The self taught artist, first lived a diverse career in the automotive industry, working with exotic machines such as Ferrari, professional racing and custom modification. During this time and since high school, writing, photography, art and other creative endeavors have always played an essential part in shaping Neel’s fine art career, which now professionally spans more than two decades.
